Creating the first robot influencer
To publicise the second season of Westworld, Fred, we worked on the idea to create a humanoid robot who would promote the show to passer-by’s. The 3-month robotic build worked on replicating Fred into a local actor named Tedroy.
For our online video, we installed Fred at a pub in London, with cameras set up to capture reactions as he engaged people in conversation about Westworld and topics such as the impending humanoid robot invasion. A hidden-camera video focused on those reactions, intercut with behind-the-scenes footage and a Season Two trailer.
Fred was a huge success which lead to TV appearances and events across the UK.
